Jan 18, 2015 · The little amp is very quiet at idle but can really roar! It can easily play any venue where you might use a Deluxe Reverb. The 6V6s have a fuller bottom end sound than my November EL84 Plexi. And it has plenty of Plexi grind although that grind does not come on as early as the November.

Here is my Plexi 6V6 in a nice Poplar finger jointed cabinet. A Hoffman forum member made this cabinet for me. I made the face panel on my CNC machine. Why not put all the parts on the board and then add the wires?

This is Mark Huss's version of a 6V6 Plexi. I am posting it because it is mentioned frequently on different amp building sites. One could use Hoffman's board material and turrets to make this. And then also use Hoffman's Deluxe Reverb PT (330-0-330) #041316 and OT #041318.

Print this drill guide FULL SIZE on letter sized paper. Use one template as a drill guide. The other template will be used for installing jumpers. Measure the board length of the printout to verify it is 6 7/8". Attach to blank board using double sided carpet tape.

Nov 26, 2017 · I had a builder make a 6V6 Plexi on a Hammond AO-29 chassis. He used the original transformers, but I wanted to be able to use 6L6s as well, so I swapped in an Allen TO-26 OT. It lets you use both by switching the secondary.

This build is a direct clone of Hoffman Amps 6V6 version of the Marshall Plexi circuit. 8ohm output. All of the components are new, with a spare 9pin socket installed for future modification. The 50k bias pot is located on top.

Feb 13, 2021 · Specifications for the 125E look good at 8 ohms. You want to use the 8.2K setting (2&5) for a pair of 6V6. I assume frequency response would fall between the 5.6K and 11.6K curves in the Hammond graph below. If so, it's down only about 1dB at the lowest note on a six string (at 15W output).
