Just east of its namesake neighbourhood, Barceloneta's main beach is a golden-brown strip of sand where, during warm months, pool-party promoters, mojito vendors and sarong sellers mingle with masses of sun-loving visitors and barcelonins.

The Barceloneta Beach is the most distinguished and well-known beach in the city. There are more than 1,100 metres of beach to enjoy activities in the sea and eat fish.

Barceloneta beach is breathtakingly beautiful, especially due to the blue color of the sea. In summer (we were there between the 8th and 11th of July) the heat is very strong, so it is recommended to wear a hat and drink plenty of water.

Barceloneta beach is 422 metres long and is one of the oldest and most traditional in the city. It is a favourite amongst foreign visitors, and also youth groups and schools, who often use it for activities. An arcade runs the length of the top of beach.
