Dec 6, 2006 · Here's what I'd say: There are places in Chicago with good Middle Eastern food, as good or better than Pita Inn, but NOTHING approaches the value of the Inn. The places I most frequent these days in the city are Semiramisand Steve's Shish Kabob, and when I'm leaving Costco, Babylon. None of these places will remind you of Pita Inn however.

Mar 26, 2024 · We visited Firewood Kabob around 12:30 PM and ordered the lunch special. Last Friday, we went to Pita Inn (in Mundelein) and also ordered the lunch special. The meat at Firewood Kabob tasted good and was not dried out (like Pita Inn). The owner of Firewood Kabob was super friendly and visited each table to see if anyone had any issues/comments.

Oct 29, 2005 · Like Pita Inn, they make their own pita, though the sandwiches are wrapped in the thinner bread whose name I usually forget. Not nearly as fast and busy as Pita Inn, no free pickles like at basha (sold as a side order), but the food I sampled had quite a bit more flavor especially the lentil soup (which I usually find dead weight at most middle ...

Jul 15, 2019 · Then there's the veggie pita (wrap or laffah): a foot-long burrito-style thing with a melange of flavors, outstanding & relatively healthy. Both the lentil & chickpea soups are subtly stellar. On the side (complimentary with dine-in) are the torshi, pickled vegetables. Love 'em. No doubt, tough competition with Pita Inn.

Mar 25, 2011 · At the recommendation of my barber-the-landlord ("good food"), I made my inaugural visit here for lunch today. I did confirm that the owner of this spot is in fact a brother of one of the owners of the Pita Inn empire. The menu bears some similarity to Pita Inn. I chose the daily (Mon-Fri) lunch special combination plate for $5.99 - similar to PI.

LTHForum.com - Best Italian Beef
Jan 3, 2025 · Now--health-wise, my dietitian daughter said it's not much better than a real beef. Caloric-wise a little better. But it's not red meat. And...most important, it did not activate any GI triggers like the 'Impossible' kefta kabob had at Pita Inn a few months ago. That was bad. This is good, very good. Count Me A Fan, as Gary would say!
