Aug 22, 2016 · I went from Ping S58s to the ie1 irons and I still feel this is the best overall iron I have ever played. I have played the Ping eye2, eye2+, I3+, S 58 and these are by far the best of the bunch. Durability has not been a issue yet, but I spoke with Ping and they can be refinished with a star shot back/cavity rather than the painted.

Sep 3, 2018 · For MY swing that is hard to do. I am best suited to play clubs with low CoG like the ie1, p790, maltby dbm, bridgestone j40. I'm going to keep the i210's and keep giving them a chance to see if I can adapt to them, but I am very tempted to have the ie1's refinished by Ping.

Jul 28, 2015 · While its probably a good assumption ping didnt just make a mistake here, it is an oddity nevertheless. Since that loft gap is so unusual, its a pretty fair question to ask why. And it would be interesting to hear ping's answer too. Ping deserves the benefit of the doubt, but not necessarily blind faith.

Apr 15, 2018 · I love my IE1 irons. Consistent distance, easy to hit. Get a pro to fit you and you'll be happy with these irons. I have played Ping Eye2 (loved them), Nike Pro Combo Tour (loved them when I played alot), TaylorMade Rocketblades (hated them), Ping i15 (hated them).

Jul 28, 2018 · I personally felt the ie1's were softer and more forgiving, especially the longer irons. Have mine with the modus 105, great combo. Have also hit a lot of the newer ping irons, and feel the ie1's are just as good. Love the look of the new stuff, but ever since ping started to thin out the faces, they sacrificed the feel.

Dec 10, 2017 · When I was fit for irons, I hit both side by side on a launch monitor. The ie1 outperformed the i200 and it really wasnt even close. I ended up with the CF16 Apex but it was a pretty close race between the ie1, a Srixon model and the CF16s. The cf16s ultimately looked better to my eye at address than the ie1.
