Just a few actual facts from the current main boot manufacturers: They currently have 15 (!!!) different boot models in production. Out of those 15 models, 12 are NNN-BC and only 3 are 75mm! 11 NNN-BC models. Only 2 models with pins! NNN-BC: 8 Models.

My experience so far is on a 25 year old pair of skinny 210 cm Karhu (60mm at tip) with soft Salomon boots, so I have no 3 pin experience.

The Rottefella system is called the NNN which stands for New Nordic Norm. This system is found both on the ski boot outsole and the binding. This means that Rottefella manufactures the bindings but does not produce the whole boot.
