How do I use a second GPU for PhysX? | Tom's Hardware Forum
Sep 20, 2016 · Installing a second card as a physx card will not increase your maximum fps, but it will give you a slight increase in your minimum fps. When a lot of things start happening, this is when your fps is at its lowest. If you have a dedicated physx card, your primary card just has to do the graphics processing.
Dedicated PhysX Card, is it worth it? | Tom's Hardware Forum
Jun 3, 2015 · If you had one card and added a PhysX card, taking your number, +20% would be the improvement. Now if you had one card and added another in SLI, your improvement would be more than 20%, and likely more like 80%+, or even +60% if you factor in a -20% PhysX hit. Just trying to think that statement through.
Dedicated Physx Card - Tom's Hardware Forum
Jan 31, 2017 · So i have a 1080 classified as my main card, and was going to use my 980 classified as a dedicated physx card. However, ive seen people say its not worth doing so anymore, but they dont say why. I would have the 1080 in a 16 slot, and the 980 in an 8 slot. ive seen a few posts saying that could...
Dedicated PhysX gpu - Tom's Hardware Forum
Jul 2, 2018 · Adding a 3rd card of anything lower than what you have now is pretty much pointless as a single 1080ti has more than enough processing power to deal with anything physX related you could throw at it. Part of your issue might be the bridge used, if using the older, stock junk you could be loosing out on a lot the 2nd card has to offer, a HB ...
Question How do mid-range cards handle PhysX in older games?
Mar 26, 2024 · Yeah, there's a cable, but that's just preference. Dedicated PhysX card? - Tom's Hardware Forum
Jun 3, 2013 · I drank the PhysX coolaid. After trying several Nvidia graphics cards (440 DDR5 and 640 DDR 3) as a dedicated PhysX card, both slowing down my GTX 680. My GTX 680 was better doing the graphics and PhysX job alone. I added a second 680 in SLI and that really helped with FPS when PhysX was set to high in Batman Arkham City. But...

Jul 11, 2013 · if you're talking about gpu accelerated PhysX the answer is not. just don't get it confused with game that are using PhysX as their primary physics engine. for example all Unreal Engine 3.0 based games have PhysX because PhysX is the one of the core component of UE 3. but all the physics calculation are still done by cpu. the type of PhysX that nvidia usually …
What is the best PhysX card for GT 1030? - Tom's Hardware Forum
May 1, 2018 · PhysX is a separate circuit on the card just like nvenc (h265 encoding) it doesn't affect general performance, you can only make it run worse by complicating things. Dedicated physx Card and GTX 580 | Tom's Hardware Forum
Oct 18, 2010 · How much power you need for a dedicated PhysX card depends on the game. I would have recommended two 570's over a single 580 with a dedicated physX card, but it sounds like you already have the 580. I have used a 9800GT as a physX card and found it wasn't enough power for Sacred 2 PhysX.
