The BSA B31, introduced in 1945, was the first new model introduced by the company after the Second World War. Based on pre-war designs, it used a single cylinder four stroke engine that displaced 348cc. Initially, it had a rigid frame and telescopic forks, the first use of such on a BSA.

The B31 was the only new model to be introduced when BSA announced its post-war range in August 1945, although even it had its origins in the earlier B29 and WB30. The overhead valve 350cc single was housed in a rigid frame with a four speed gearbox and telescopic forks and was endowed with good performance for the time.

Black would have been perfectly acceptable to me except that my 1974 Royal Enfield Bullet 350, presently in the process of rebuilding has been painted entirely black ...
