The "Welcome to Petaluma" mural is located off Highway 101 North heading towards San Francisco. The 13' tall by 40' mural was painted using a variety of materials including acrylics, latex, and aerosol paints and was sealed with a UV / weather resistant and a graffiti proof clear coat to further protect the exterior mural painting.

Petaluma hosts a spectrum of public art from murals, memorials, to larger-than-life sculptures. Green icons are City-funded artworks from the Public Art Fund. The 130-foot-long photo mural features portraits of 118 Petalumans with ties to our historic Fairgrounds and was commissioned by the City to honor the Fairgrounds’ central role in Petaluma’s past, present, and future.

Located just off East Washington on Water Street, Maxfield's mural now graces the high traffic area for decades to come.
