If you are looking for a pet duck, I might suggest looking at a few other breeds in the farm duck world. My mom keeps Welsh Harlequins & Cayuga and they are extremely friendly - raised in a very similar manner to my Campbells & Runners.

Nov 9, 2011 · DH went to the farm store which did not have the suggested wound care products, but did have Vetericyn (antiseptic, antimicrobial,ect) spray. We sprayed the wounds with the Vetericyn & settled them into the mud room. The least severe duck even started quacking (talking) to the other duck when they were settled in for the night.

As a good rule of thumb, if it can make a person constipated, it can do so to a duck.-Feeding high protein items, (like eggs, bugs, etc) will make a duck's poop smell worse than normal.

Nov 3, 2013 · The target ducks pretty much ignores the bobbing duck, so it does not seem to be doing anything of note in terms of mating dances or whatever lololol. It is not straight on bobbing, it is "run up to the side and bob the head away from the target duck". Sometimes there is no target duck, and they just do it randomly.

May 12, 2021 · We have a Pekin duck with a wound that smells rotten and is infested with maggots. I think this is beyond our ability to treat. What is the best way to humanely put her down? I saw a technique for culling chicks that used an airtight container with ether (starting fluid). Would this be a quick and humane way to euthanize a full-grown duck?

Dec 26, 2017 · Males are tons quieter than females lol and it seems that more females to males is a good ratio. My Swedish duck lays an egg a day for 2 weeks, skips a day, then starts the cycle over. I’ve found that ducks are smart and sweet, with defined personalities and cute habits.

Nov 2, 2008 · Any duck will make a good pet. It all depends on how they are raised. From day one you have to handle them. As they get older, continue to handle them and give them treats. Females are loud and will quack quite a bit. Males are quiet and whispery.
