Pestilence is a Dutch death metal band founded in Enschede in 1986. They have been through various membership changes throughout their existence, with guitarist-vocalist Patrick Mameli as the sole constant member.

In 1994, the members decided that it would be best to focus on their own individual bands, resulting in Pestilence splitting up. In 2007, Patrick Mameli announced he was planning to reform the band, and, in 2008, Pestilence officially returned.
