They are 2 halves of the same story. The best way to play them would be on PS Vita. They’re both available there with Innocent Sin having a complete remaster.

Innocent Sin is the first in the Persona 2 trilogy, followed by Eternal Punishment. It follows Tatsuya and his friends in their efforts to stop the Masked Circle from destroying the world, and uncovering the plot perpetrated by the Crawling Chaos, Nyarlathotep.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin is a direct sequel of sorts to the original Persona, following up on that storyline with a new plot but several returning characters. There is even one party member in the group who was also one of the main characters that players fought alongside in the first game.
