Pergamon or Pergamum (/ ˈpɜːrɡəmən / or / ˈpɜːrɡəmɒn /; Ancient Greek: Πέργαμον), also referred to by its modern Greek form Pergamos (Πέργαμος), [a][1] was a rich and powerful ancient Greek city in Aeolis.
