The Zebras in these paintings are from the Kirk Bros. Circus created by my grandfather Edgar D. Kirk from Duncannon, PA. The Circus is a full 3 ring circus with 3500 hand carved and painted pieces. The circus is now in the permanent collection of the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne VT.

After seeing the Macchiaioli artist's show inRome and the Morandi show in New York City, my commitmentto this technique has been my goal. The inspiration for my subject matter comes from everyday objectspainted many times over to find the right order in a simple andrealistic format.
