Parnon or Parnonas (Greek: Πάρνων/Πάρνωνας) or Malevos (Μαλεβός) is a mountain range, or massif, on the east of the Laconian plain and the Evrotas Valley. It is visible from Athens above the top of the Argive mountains.

Parnon is the largest mountain of Peloponnese, taking a total space of about half a million acres, in two regions; Arcadia and Laconia. The Municipalities in which Parnon extends are North and South Kynouria, Arcadia, Monemvasia and Laconia.

Parnonas Mountain is extending in the largeness area of Peloponnese. It is also named as ‘Malevos’. At ancient times it was named as ‘Cronion Mountain’, because according to Greek mythology, the mountain was dedicated to the great Titan ‘Croms’ (Saturn).

Feb 2, 2018 · The greatest mountain range of Peloponnese, Mount Parnon extends along the east side of the peninsula, separating the Laconian plain from the Argolic Gulf and ending at Cape Maléa in the southeast. Compared to other mountains of the region, it has a relatively mild climate, with fewer days of snow cover.

Being an important link of the mountain barebone of the Peloponnese, Mt Parnon is crossed by two Long Distance hiking routes, the European Trail E4 and the National Trail O33. Both, however, rely on the road network and do not have much hiking value.

Parnon or Malevo is a mountain ridge on the east of the Laconian plain. Height 1934m (6362 feet). It is visible from Athens above the top of the Argive mountains.
