Nibs produced for this pen ranged from needlepoint to double broad, and included specialty nibs like oblique F M & B, and stub nibs in steel, 10k, 14k, and 18k nibs. The 45 lineup throughout its entire run featured over 50 unique colors and finishes.

Oct 15, 2022 · I don't find any differences in the feel of writing with a gold or steel nib with the 45. They're all pretty much hard as nails. Rick at Five Star Pens usually has a good selection of Parker 45 parts if you need to replace a nib, a section, or a barrel.

The body of the Parker 45 was tapered at both ends, creating a slimmer and lighter pen than the Parker 51. The body also sported a metal ring and a completely new kind of steel nib. The nib was triangular and very small, compared to prior Parker nibs. The complete nib/feed could be unscrewed and easily replaced and many styles of nibs were offered.

For the collector the most easily recognisable part is the small triangular half hooded nib, available in gold, gold plate and steel, which can be unscrewed as a unit with the collar and ink feeder for easy replacement.
