The car is powered by a mid-mounted 8.2 L (500 cu in) [1] Cadillac V8 engine with twin turbochargers paired to a three-speed automatic transmission. [2] . Only two cars were made (one in white, one in black), both of which are known still to exist.

The extraordinary Panther 6 could well have been the first road car to achieve the mythical 200mph barrier. While only 2 examples of this incredible 6 wheeled convertible were ever made, a massive 8.2 litre twin-turbo V8 producing 600bhp goes a long way to validating Panther's claim that this was the worlds fastest production car of its time.

Jul 15, 2021 · Progress is fine, but it's gone on for too long.: Panther 6. I always thought the reasons given for the F1 six wheel Tyrrell design might have been a bit exaggerated but it was certainly a novelty. The concept became the inspiration for this 1977 behemoth.
