He was jailed for three and a half years for being concerned in the supply of drugs in 2017. “I refuse to leave here anything less than I was when I came in” was the very first statement I made and my response to an officer stating, “Don’t worry…you all break in the end.” This became my daily mantra.

Pank Sethi’s journey is one of profound resilience and courage, marked by his unwavering commitment to advocating for those living with HIV. Born in India and raised in London, Pank faced the harsh realities of stigma and discrimination head-on, particularly during his time in the UK prison system.

Sep 4, 2024 · Since his release from prison, Pank has emerged as a prominent voice for social change, renowned as a leading expert in HIV and Sexual Health Services within UK prisons. His pivotal role on the prison special interest group for the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV influences the delivery of healthcare services across the prison estate.

Dedicated to ending new cases of HIV by 2030, Pank also holds the post of Prevention and Testing Manager at Positive East, where he oversees delivery of services for the London HIV Prevention Program - a contract providing testing services to every borough across London.
