If you’re not familiar with the term pac boot, a loose definiton would be a boot with a rubber sole and bottom, leather uppers, and a removable liner. It’s the combination of those elements gives a hunter a warm boot that is easy to dry.

Initially I bought a pair of 14" double insulated mountain extremes but they're just too warm so I decided to keep them for ice fishing and treestand hunting. I then bought a pair of the 12" Guide pac boots which are a thinsulate boot similar to the boots I assume you're looking at. So far, so good.

Jan 19, 2017 · I wear pac boots when hunting in snow deeper that about 6 inches. I alway keep my regular hunting boots in the truck for packing out meat. I once packed out an elk quarter wearing pac boots and they are terrible. They slip everywhere, there is no ankle support and there is no around the foot itself. Makes for very sore feet.

Jul 20, 2010 · I have the Schnee's extremes. Mine were purchased 20+ years ago and rebuilt last year for a $100.00. They are very warm and fit to your regular size. Kenetrex has a 20% off sale until 12-31-2019 that include all their regular and pac boots. Looking at both boots the only difference I see is the tread on the sole.

Feb 15, 2021 · Hey guys..my son and I are going on a WY wilderness elk horseback hunt in October of this year. Struggling to figure out if we should buy pac boots like the Kenetrek northern or the Mtn extreme 1000’s. Obviously the weather can be in the single digits to 50 degrees.. we will be doing some hiking but not tons since we will be on horses.

Jul 19, 2011 · I am considering ordering a pair of kenetrek Northern pac boots for stand hunting in temps below 30. Looking for feed back ofrom someone who has used them. I am probably going to oreder the 10" version to do try and avoid some of the bulk; but am not sure if the 13" would be more comfortable walking in ie. more support.

Feb 2, 2024 · 1. Nice heavy leather in the boots with triple stiching in the uppers. 2. The rubber bottoms are fantastic quality and very well made. 3. The Claw Lug sole is great. The traction is aggressive, the lugs are deep, and they have an agressive outside lug on the pac boots. In the arch area there is also a couple of lugs for increased traction.
