A bigger functional difference is the full shelf receiver setup on the PTR vs. the partial shelf setup on the Century that lets you use regular, unmodified MP5 trigger housings. The PTR would be an easier transferable sear host since it has a full auto carrier due to the shelf setup, but the Century would be easier if you just wanna accessorize ...

May 22, 2022 · I settled with both an MKE AP5-P and a PTR 9KT. Just purchased the AP5-P last week and waiting on ups for the PTR 9KT scheduled to be delivered this Thursday. I like the welded rail since I am going to be using it with a red dot anyway.

I would get an AP5, they all have their pros and cons. AP5 you get the lower pin housing, Hk guys always say they want it as close to real mp5 as they can get. Yet, they say they don’t care, but they purchase a clipped and pinned lower to add the visual effect.

Oct 18, 2022 · I'd recommend the AP5 over the PTR personally, but that's because I prefer the look without the welded picatinny rail. From my experience and the experiences I've seen others have, either one should be just fine.
