Jul 21, 2013 · The forums are littered with "oil wars" for Polaris oil, vs. all others. I'll say this, after owning two rzr's, I think mobil 1 is fine for the engine, but I'd be careful with anything else for the transmission, transfer case and front/rear differentials. I used mobil 1 full synthetic 75/90 in the rear diff and lost it on my last 7 day outing.

Feb 23, 2016 · I like the heavier oil in mine due to the heat a turbo can build. My 800 was designed for the regular PS-4 but does fine on Plus. FYI, I started running a newer Mobile 1 0W50 racing oil in it about a year ago.

Aug 24, 2020 · You can beat AMSoil, however, you choose oil and it's makeup by usage. That said, I use Motul 300v 5w40 in our RZR 900 S and Ace 570. I previously used it in our Sportsman 500 HO and Ace 150 (among other machines that see a lot of high RPM/high load usage). These things live above 5k RPM and redline at nearly 9k RPM.

Mar 24, 2013 · PS-4 is 5w-50 and the PS-4 extreme is 10w-50. I have always used the Amsoil 4 stroke ATV oil that is 0w-40 in my machines. Now that Polaris is showing their recommended oil is a 50 weight I am unsure if I should still use the Amsoil 40 weight.

Nov 24, 2013 · Polaris has NO printed approval ratings on the bottle of oil. (API, ASE, CJ4, and a few others). Polaris purposely sell blank bottles of all lubricants. That way you can't compare ratings and buy a different brand. Polaris motors need 8-15 PPM of zinc. An oil analysis will show if the oil is the proper type. That's all that matters.

Apr 24, 2009 · Polaris has gone with this PS4+ oil for all their quads & UTVs so that's a lot of oil. Oil can be specially formulated at even the distributor level in quantities from a barrel to a tanker truck. They just take the base stocks & additives and mix up any recipe you want. It doesn't have to happen at the refinery.
