Jun 27, 2018 · Here’s the thing; there aren’t universal specifications for a “commonly known, U-shaped neck.” The term means different things to different manufacturers. Very few are 100% identical. Shawn’s post is certainly a good visual indication of what’s what with PRS neck profiles, but heck, they’re all U-shaped to one degree or another.
Total Beginner: Neck Profile | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Aug 26, 2017 · My first guitar was a Gibson with 60s neck, then I held my first PRS with Pattern Reg neck (and said bye bye to the Gibson) then I met an old PRS with a standard/regular neck and promptly fell in love. The PRS standard neck was simply made for my hand; all other neck shapes feel wrong (I can, however, tolerate the Fender C shape neck and I like ...
PRS Models with "Pattern" Neck Profile?
Jan 4, 2019 · I'm the proud new owner of a 2018 PRS HB II Piezo that I just can't put down. One of my favorite things is the neck, which is "PATTERN" - not to be confused with "Pattern Thin", "Pattern Regular" or "Pattern Vintage". Current core models with Pattern necks are: Custom 22, McCarty, Hollowbody...
Necks: DGT vs. Pattern Regular | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Apr 7, 2023 · So I appreciate a guitar neck with a little more meat on the neck, as it eases some of the strain after longer playing sessions. My bet is anything larger than the Pattern Thin is going to be great. The McCarty's are out of the picture due to the short scale length-- that I've discovered first hand a few weeks ago. Otherwise, that neck felt great.
Silver Sky neck question | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Aug 3, 2019 · It’s about the amount of shoulder on the neck. I haven’t touched my old tele in years due to the massive boat tail neck. I have several strats that all suit me. The modern c is great, I like the Suhr slim even c, the Anderson even taper is great. I want to try a silver sky but want to give myself the best shot at liking the neck profile.
PRS neck profile. - The Gear Page
Jul 30, 2022 · On PRS's site there is an explanation on their neck profile with a numbers and a cross section drawing but to me it's hard to tell so I put them on top of each other to tell the difference easier. Hope this helps someone in some way.
Wide Fat vs. Pattern Regular Necks - Official PRS Guitars Forum
Feb 18, 2020 · So, I can't get to a PRS dealer soon and I've been doing some reading. I just tried a PRS Acoustic SE and I have a firm idea on the feel of the neck. Now I know that they're different but how different are the pattern regular necks from the wide fat? I've read that the pattern regular is a variation of the wide fat neck.
DGT Neck Profile Comparison? | Official PRS Guitars Forum
Jan 21, 2015 · The Warmoth boat neck with a 1.65 nut width is the closest they have to a DGT profile. I have one on a Tele. It's similar but with a bit more V shape down low in the one I got.
PRS Guitar with slimmer neck (slimmer width)
May 28, 2020 · According to PRS neck shapes, the Pattern Regular is the 'narrowest' neck at the nut - at least apart from the two Silver Sky necks.... The difference is just 1/32" (as 1-11/16 is the equivalent to 1-22/32).
Bolt-on vs Set-Neck - I'm really hearing a tonal difference!
Apr 5, 2024 · The other PRS guitars I have are either bolt-on necks (three SE series CE24s - one w no top (Satin Std), maple top, and a Sandblasted Swamp Ash top), and one set-neck BUT semi-hollow body (SE Series Custom 22).
