Aug 2, 2007 · Staufer's "Pennsy Power II" states that the "MP54" 64-foot cars were all rebuilt by PRR from steam hauled coaches class P54. However he adds, as do others, that not all "MP54" class cars were motorized and that a relatively small number were configured as trailer cars.

I pre-ordered both of the PRR mP54 Pre-war coach sets. They arrived this past Friday and I have to admit that I was very impressed. These cars did not get the full striping that the prototype cars would have originally been decorated with, which I honestly didn't expect anyway.
