Mar 24, 2008 · The last Jiffy Burger has passed through the bright red serving lips at P.O. Pears, and the sand volleyball court will sit unused this summer for the first time since the '80s. The restaurant closed its doors for good on Saturday after owner Robert Jergensen was unable to find a buyer for his business who would keep the Lincoln staple open.

P.O. Pears is quite possibly the coolest restaurant ever. There are some out there with better food (though Pears IS the home of my fave hamburger...more on that in a minute), there are some out there with a better bar, better bands, better decor...but there's nobody that put it all together in the unique way and with the devil-may-care ...
