The Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) was founded in 1962 and became affiliated with FIFA in 1963. As the governing body for football in Papua New Guinea, PNGFA is dedicated to the promotion and development of the sport across the nation.

The PNGFA Executive Committee has several roles within the organization. Firstly, it is responsible for implementing the PNGFA statutes and carrying out the decisions made by the PNGFA Congress.
