Pacemaker-mediated tachycardia (PMT): ECG and management
Pacemaker-mediated tachycardia may arise if the pacemaker records a rapid atrial rate (e.g. during a supraventricular tachycardia) and stimulates the ventricles with the same rate. This occurs if ventricular stimulation is set to be triggered by the atrial impulse.

Oct 24, 2024 · Several types of pacemaker associated dysrhythmias can occur including pacemaker-mediated tachycardia (PMT), sensor-induced tachycardia, runaway pacemaker, pacemaker-mediated Wenckebach AV block and lead dislodgement dysrhythmia.

Jul 25, 2023 · Pacemaker mediated tachycardia is a type of arrhythmia that happens in patients with dual-chamber pacemakers due to reentry. Patients who develop this arrhythmia can develop palpitations, dizziness, or even syncope.

Feb 21, 2021 · Pacemaker mediated tachycardia (PMT), also known as endless-loop tachycardia, generally refers to all tachyarrhythmias in which the pacing device plays a major role. Classically PMT usually denotes a form of reentrant tachycardia that is encountered in patients with dual-chamber pacemakers in which: Etiology.

Nov 14, 2017 · Pacemaker tachycardia (PMT) is a heart rhythm disturbance associated with an arrhythmia group associated with pacemaker operation (ECS). It is considered the most frequent complication of two-chamber cardiac stimulation.
Pacemaker Mediated Tachycardia - ECG Stampede
Pacemaker-mediated tachycardia (PMT), or endless loop tachycardia, is a reentrant tachycardia in which the pacemaker forms the anterograde pathway and the atrioventricular node forms the retrograde pathway, leading to a pacemaker-sensed retrograde P’ wave.
Pacemaker Associated Tachycardia – Core EM
A pacemaker-mediated tachycardia’s primary differential diagnosis includes a rapidly-sense atrial rate, which occurs when any (native) atrial tachycardia (sinus tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, etc.) results in rapid ventricular pacing. The ECG will demonstrate a native atrial rhythm with a paced ventricular rhythm.

Near‐Field Endless Loop Tachycardia is the classic pacemaker‐mediated tachycardia (PMT). This occurs in dual‐chamber tracking modes (DDD or VDD) in patients with intact ventriculo‐atrial (VA) conduction through the atrioventricular (AV) node or an accessory pathway.
