The developer of PGR (Bizarre Creations) was acquired by Activision thus effectively killing PGR. They did go on to create Blur and a 007 game (Blood Stone) before being closed down by Activision. I think they could bring it back by having Playground Games takeover.

Sep 24, 2011 · As far as I am aware, MS owns the rights to PGR so a fifth game isn't out of the question. That said though, it's been a long time since the last game. Looks to me like MS have given up on the series and don't think it's worth making another one.
