The PA-63 was the official Hungarian Army sidearm from 1963 until 1996, chambered for the 9x18mm Makarov cartridge. It was manufactured with a bright-finish Titanium-Aluminium alloy frame (later with blued frame), and a steel slide.

The FÉG PA-63 fires 9x18mm Makarov ammunition, and the PA-63 and the Makarov PM pistol fire the same round and are based on the same Walther PP/PPK design. But the PA-63 and the Makarov PM pistols are entirely different guns, from different countries, with no parts in common.
