The SIG P210 (Swiss Army designation Pistole 49 or M49) is a locked-breech self-loading, semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured in Neuhausen am Rheinfall (Canton of Schaffhausen, Switzerland) by SIG.

The military P49 is identified by it's A-Prefix serial number and has a distinct engraving of the Swiss shield above the slide just in front of the rear sight. Later designated as the P210, this handgun is constructed of steel and is chambered in either 9x19mm or 7.65x21mm Parabellum.

Sig Arms P49 Swiss Army pistol in excellent condition. This Sig features a Swiss Coat of Arms to top of barrel, Grooved walnut grip panels, Lanyard ring. This pistol also has a "P" on the left side of the trigger guard, indicating it was left as a gift to the owner upon leaving the Armed Services.

Oct 15, 2013 · As the P49 designation indicates, this military version of the P210 was adopted in 1949 to replace the Luger pistol then in use with the Swiss Army. The P49 was itself replaced in 1975, though many P49s remained in service with Swiss reservists until the last decade.
