Playing through P3P for the first time and I couldn't disagree more. Every image of Akihiko in-game looks completely different from one another, among other issues. Newer characters like Kotone and Rio look miles better.

With Kotone? 100% flirty eyes. The old portraits look kind of janky and that's part of the charm but the new ones are great without looking like p5 clones. They have great art direction with the remake overall.

Jun 23, 2023 · Soejima mentions that another staff member was in charge of the art direction in P3R, but maybe it's possible that she did draw the portraits but just isn't the main art director for the game. She definitely is the art director for P5T, though.
