Depending on whether you if you are talking leather or kydex, the different slide profiles used in both types of P229/P229R regarding the older Legacy slides with the half height cocking serrations and short extractor, versus the later slides with long extractors and full height rear cocking serrations.

Mar 10, 2013 · Try Garrett Industries Silent Thunder IWB holster for the P229R. It's lined with leather, but is adjustable for tension on the rail to retain the pistol. Their site says their holsters fit all P229 models, but be sure to specify whether you have a rail etc.

Feb 13, 2018 · If it just has the E2 grips, then it also has the P229-1 frame if it was made after 2010 and has the long extractor slide like the M11-A1 as Willard mentioned before. The only possible P229R "E2" that wouldn't use the P229-1 mags is a P229R made before 2010 with the P228 frame with the narrow mag well that someone put E2 grips on.
