Mar 5, 2022 · The GPU in the P15 gen 2 is much more powerful than what's in the X1E4/P1G4 (110 watts versus 35 watts) and thus will have a harder time keeping cool. I would imagine that when performing CPU tasks the P15 gen 2 will almost certainly be cooler regardless if there has been a bios update or not.

The main difference is that the P1 Gen 4 has a thinner and lighter design for portability, whereas the P15 Gen 2 is a much bulkier device with a more robust cooling system to allow the GPU to run at a higher wattage, resulting in better performance.

Oct 1, 2021 · One of the differences in the swedish lenovo site is that the p1 can only be upgraded with a €500 5G WWAN card, while with the P15 I can get away with a €150 4G. Another big difference for me is tat the OLED can be chosen for the P15.

Nov 7, 2020 · Reasons I went for a P15: 4 DRAM slots. Ability to get up to 128 GB RAM is great. Helps a lot with virtualization workloads. "Ultra Performance" mode. The actual performance of it does seem to be a bit better than the default performance, and my headphones block out the loud whirring of the fan.
