The primary folder used by the panel system is the Panel folder. This folder contains the panel background image files (.bmps) and the panel configuration file (panel.cfg). When a vehicle is loaded into the simulator, it also loads the appropriate panel configuration file.

Panels provide a visual window to interact with vehicles in the simulation. These can be set up as standalone windows that can be opened through the menu or as part of the virtual cockpit of a vehicle. The content and artwork displayed in a panel can be set up using xml or Scaleform.

There are six main view modes in Prepar3D. You cycle through the view modes using the keyboard, buttons on a joystick, an Xbox 360 for Windows controller, or the menus (more on that below) and you can choose which view you want to display within each mode.

May 10, 2022 · I use a 3rd party addon, Airmanager, for 2d panels. It can run either on your sim PC or on a networked device. I happen to be running it on a 6 year old laptop.
