3500kg OzHitch electric offroad Coupling is manufactured by Manutec. The self-aligning Ozhitch is one of the many off-road couplings used by camper trailers and caravaners in today’s Australian market.

The handbrake is separate to the hitch so that it can be fitted remotely further away from the coupling. The OzHitch was designed to overcome problems with hitches being too high and fouling with doors and gates, so we made it possible to put the handbrake further away and separate to the hitch.

your diagram is what the Hyland Hitch looks like not the Oz Hitch. The Oz Hitch shaft (shown in OP) fits into a blind recess so unfortunately cannot be welded as you describe above. Why is it so?
