The Owl Shrine and the Lake – an artificial lake in the interior of the Grove, used for the noon-time concerts and also the venue of the Cremation of Care, which takes place on the first Saturday of the encampment. It is also the location of the 12:30 p.m. daily "Lakeside Talks."

The Owl Shrine covered in moss, standing among trees behind a stage at one edge of a man-made pond. The ceremony involves the poling across a lake of a small boat containing an effigy of Care (called "Dull Care").
