The Outer Gods are a category of fictional entities of cosmic significance used in certain systemisations of the Cthulhu Mythos. They may be distinguished from the Great Old Ones, although the distinction isn't universally acknowledged.

As it is known in the Mythos, the Outer Gods are ruled by Azathoth, the "Blind Idiot God", who holds court at the center of infinity. A group of Outer Gods dance rhythmically around Azathoth, in cadence to the piping of a demonic flute.
