May 24, 2021 · To trident commonly attached NAB, not AEG. However there are some adapters trident to AEG (including Revox), but they never used on professional machines. Some Revox models do have the reel tables that can accept the AEG platters (easy to tell by two extra holes), some Otari's do, Lyrec and I am sure some others.

Apr 13, 2022 · The vast majority of reel spindles in other tape decks have integral "locking trident clamps". The Otari has none. Just a bare shaft, so a special Otari NAB adapter is needed. These Akai hubs will also lock onto the Otari smooth shaft.

Jul 31, 2017 · I've always had issues getting my Otari hubs tight. I see a set screw on the inside of the hub. I've readjusted it, but don't see any difference as far as tightening goes. What is the purpose of this set screw? Are there better options for hubs on the Otari MX 5050 B2 HD?

Jul 6, 2005 · Would a BEQ be better then a Trident series 65/75 in terms of preamps, EQ's, maintaining? I really don't know that much about Ameks...I've seen a few Einstiens and Langelys in this price range. BTW, not interested in MCI or Soundcraft. Sorry for the long post, any help/advice/past experiences would be greatly appreciated.

May 18, 2022 · Come with 6 screws. Using Otari MX5050 style HUB adapter or other with twisted and locked function. Not sure if they can work on MX50. But I think should be no problem. Pick up in Hamilton. Cash or EMT. Thanks!

Aug 5, 2018 · I bought a replacement pinch roller from Athan for my Otari MX5050BIII a few years ago. I actually went down to their facility near SFO to pick up the part and had a nice talk with the owner. It is a pretty good sized facility with some precision equipment.

The console comes with an Otari Automation system, which includes 2 power supplies, an ancient 386 computer, and all cabling. I never hooked this up as i had no need for it so i cannot vouch for the condition of the Otari system, but i will include it.
