The Priors of the Ori are an artificially evolved race of Humans created via genetic manipulation by the Ori. Envoys of the Ori and teachers of Origin, Priors are governed by the Book of Origin, often carrying a copy with them to give to individuals or entire peoples.

Prior #6 is on board one of the Ori battlecruisers invading the Milky Way in "Camelot" and is present during Adria's birth in "Flesh and Blood" and informs her parents of her divine purpose. He also appears in "The Quest," accompanying Adria in the search of the Sangraal.

Envoy of the Ori and teacher of Origin. Priors are governed by the Book of Origin, which they often carry with them to give to individuals or entire peoples. They can be distinguished by simple robes adorned with the Ori symbol, ornate tattoos on various parts of their faces and a tall staff.

When SG-1 boarded the Ori's warship that was parked unmanned and unguarded on the planet, they discovered that the ship was normally piloted by a Prior and determined that the technology was geared to answer to a Prior's commands and unique physiology.

The Prior staff is a weapon created by the Ori for the surrogates the Priors. The mysterious Prior of the Ori takes Daniel and Vala by ring transporter to the city of the gods on the Plains of Celestis and locks them away in a dining hall with a copy of the Book of Origin. Back in our galaxy, a Prior is sent to convert the first world in the Milky Way to the Origin religion.

This Prior was a male Prior. Biography. He was sent to the Milky Way and ended up on P3X-421 where he preached to the people from the Book of Origin. He was approached by Cameron Mitchell who invited him back to Earth. He was shown Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran but said he could do nothing as their predicament was the will of the Ori.
