This was initially run in its own series named the Formula Le Mans Cup until 2010 when it was adapted to allow it to be run three other endurance series including the American Le Mans Series which gave the car its own category (LMPC).

The Le Mans Prototype Challenge (shortened to LMP Challenge or LMPC) was a spec sports prototype formula created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), organisers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and sports car constructor Oreca.

2009 Oreca FLM-09. In 2009 the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO) created Formula Le Mans (FLM) as a one-make series intended to level the playing field and curb the increasing costs of endurance racing. The cars were made by Oreca as a variant of Courage LC75 with a near-stock version of the LS3 GM V8 and Xtrac gearbox.

Oreca FLM09 LMPC car - ex JDC Racing - chassis #21, since the end of the LMPC class in IMSA the car has been used sparingly in historic events. Engine and gear box about 20 hours since last rebuild. The car always been properly maintained and is in good, clean, tidy condition.

Dec 29, 2017 · Derived from the Courage LC75 chassis, and used predominantly as a cost-capped chassis in IMSA and the Le Mans series, the ORECA FLM 09 proved to be a mainstay in multi-class sportscar racing from 2009 to 2017, finishing its final season in IMSA competition earlier this year at Petit Le Mans.

The Oreca FLM09 is a spec sports prototype car built to compete in the LeMans Prototype Challenge which had been created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. The series was designed as a way for young and upcoming drivers to gain experience and to prove themselves before entering the world of endurance racing.
