Oracle is the alter-ego of Barbara Gordon, formerly known as Batman's sidekick Batgirl until the Joker shot her during the Killing Joke story. Paraplegic and confined to a wheelchair, she begins using technology and computers to help other super-heroes by operating a worldwide communications network.

Oracle aided Batman in dispatching the attackers by using the steam pipes and electronics on the roof. Despite the relief, Barbara detected her father's voiceprint being used at Panessa Studios, where Batman had kept four patients infected with Joker's blood.

Oracle was an outside contact to Batman, who filled him in on what was going on. Oracle did not physically appear in Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, until Arkham Knight where she did appear. Although she did speak directly to Batman in every game.

She plays a supporting role as Oracle in Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, serving as Batman's guide through Arkham, and is voiced by Kimberly Brooks. She also appears as the radio guide alongside Alfred Pennyworth, as they both serve as Batman's guides in the sequel, Batman: Arkham City .

Following 2020s, she was reintegrated into the Oracle role, serving as a supporting character to Batman and a main character in the Batgirls comic series. As Batgirl, Barbara Gordon has been described as one of the most popular characters to appear during the Silver Age of Comic Books.
