BTW, aside from being much cheaper on the reseller market, the 103 and 105 will decode and play HDCDs, the newer 200 series Oppos do not decode HDCDs and will only play such discs as standard CDs.

Oct 18, 2024 · To the best of my knowledge, Oppo BDP-103/105 make use of a MediaTek system-on-chip which can send DSD data-streams read on SA-CD as-is to both the HDMI 2 output and the internal DAC chip or down-convert the DSD streams to PCM (most probably at 88.2 kHz sample rate) to send it to both HDMI 1.1 and HDMI 2 outputs and the internal DAC chip.

Jun 13, 2019 · Hi-bred SACDs played on the OPPO sound pretty much like the same SACDs played on my 19 year old Sony DVP-S9000ES, stereo SACD or CD layer, where the CD layer is almost indistinguishable from stereo SACD layer.
