The Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) is the tactical police unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). It was formed in 1975 in connection with the 1976 Summer Olympics, which had venues in Ontario.

Since they're driving regular cars and using regular radios, they usually just switch to the OPS channel or the TAC channel. TRU teams are generally on their own simplex channel or repeater and rarely show up on OPS or TAC channels.
