So judging by some quick reading, it seems like Unbound is the DNS option to use. May 2, 2013 · I use opendns at home, and google dns at work. Google has a nice and easy to remember ip (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) so its easy to setup at work. I can't feel a difference between the two, but Open dns does offer a few extra things, like logging and blocking of websites you do not wish people to visit.

OpenDNS so far has been the most reliable for me for over a decade. I have had zero downtime on hundreds of networks and IOT devices. They are so reliable that even the networks that I have set up overseas in many different countries are set up with OpenDNS and the performance remains the same. This means that if someone that shares your IP address decides to register that IP address as their own and then block some sites then you will also be blocked.

Oct 5, 2020 · We use OpenDNS (now Cisco Umbrella) plus I use OpenDNS personal at home as well. I've found that it really helps in our business quite a bit. It isn't fool proof by any means, but it isn't that expensive and it cuts down one more potential means of compromise. It does a pretty good job of blocking active phishing and malware links/scams.
