Poster Session Friday, 3:45 – 5:30 p.m. Our annual Poster Session will feature the research and innovative practices of faculty and students from Ohio’s colleges of pharmacy, as well as practitioners from around the state.

The Office of Price Administration (OPA) was established within the Office for Emergency Management of the United States government by Executive Order 8875 on August 28, 1941. The functions of the OPA were originally to control money ( price controls ) and rents after the outbreak of World War II .

Investigators working on research projects pertaining to pharmacy practice, pharmacy-focused scientific research, economic/social/administrative sciences, and pharmacy education will be showcased during the Ohio Research Forum and Poster session.

During World War 2 the Government Printing Office was extremely busy printing posters in the support of the war effort. This is a portion of those posters that we have labeled as Office of Price Administration (OPA)

This poster from 1945 promotes the work of the local OPA ration board that enforced and created ration rules. Food rationing was an important aspect of the WWII era and each citizen was encouraged to do their part in helping in the allied war effort.

Herbert Roese created this poster for the WWII era Office of Price Administration in 1943 to help create awareness about the importance of rationing. Cartoonish before and after illustrations help to explain the poster’s tagline – Rationing Means A Fair Share For All Of Us.
