Oni (鬼, Oni?, "Ogre"), also known as Kuruoshiki Oni (狂オシキ鬼, Kuruoshiki Oni?, "Mad Ogre"), is a video game character from the Street Fighter series, first appearing in Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition as a hidden boss.

Canonically, Oni is a "what if" character; he's what would happen if Akuma lost control of the demonic force within him, the Satsui no Hado. Akuma's prayer-bead necklace is a symbol of his moral code and the very first thing that Oni does before a match is rip the beads off, which symbolizes Oni's purely evil nature.

Oni jumps in the air and can follow up with either Kick or Punch Pressing P during the animation causes a Stomp to come out. Pressing K during it initiates a Dive Kick which can be easily combo'd off of.

Oni had much worse normals and overall speed along with a different moveset. Oni had slow, long reaching normals like his 6hp and very low range cancelable normals like his 4mp. Compared to akuma, who has traditional shoto normals like 2mk and 2mp and a very strong 5lp.

Oni can hold certain buttons to power up attacks. Can dash cancel while holding the button, before the attack comes out.
