Omolú, também conhecido como Obaluaiê, Sapata ou Xapanã, é filho de Nanã, a mais antiga das yabás (orixás femininas), com Olodumarê (o criador primeiro). Ele é o orixá da cura e das doenças, é o responsável por retirar as mazelas e enfermidades dos corpos das pessoas. Foi adotado por Iemanjá e é irmão de Ossai m e de Oxumarê.
