Rafael Maciel (a.k.a. Sliks ) is 28 years old, self-taught, and has been painting the streets since 1997. He started in Sao Paulo doing “pixação” until he discovered graffiti and he now spreads his unique style all around Brazil and abroad.

Rafael Sliks relates to the ancient technique of painting through the pragmatic use of oil paint and, with a vast palette of colors, the making of his works places him in conversation with the history of art.

Sliks started establishing a surreal approach, creating a unique universe of dreams placed on urban environments he intervened upon. Although this became the focal point of his art, Sliks never stopped tagging walls with his name and kept at this practice for years now.
