Jan 30, 2025 · Now she starts right up and sounds good for 2.5HP! I fixed up the bike so I could just ride it and see how it felt-heavy, old and stiff-just like me! LOL. But it does feel pretty good. Next the motor goes back on and hit the road! Maybe that's the wrong phrasing. If anyone would like to enlighten me about this bike, I would really appreciate ...

Can you tell me the year of this Hiawatha/Gambles?
Feb 20, 2023 · Thank you for your knowledge and especially the image of the gambles ad! It is a 26" model and the spitting image of the image of the 1963 that is pointed out in the ad. Phantom Reference Thread | All Things Schwinn
Dec 27, 2018 · It was my first 26" bike. I distinctly recall it had the heavy rods on it, as I remember one was bent and cracked by my brother carelessly crashing the bike. This whole "Gotta know what year it is" has become crazy. Me and many other guys here, some still alive and many more deceased have been old bike guys for years, let's hear from them on ...
Royal London Bicycles... | General Discussion About Old Bicycles
Oct 24, 2023 · The one in the second thread is the one the owner emailed me about with some additional photos. That one looks like a '30s-'40s era bike to me, probably 1930s. I did not hear back from the owner about the rear hub, but it's a fairly old bike based on the features.
Old Sears 10 speed Free Spirit. | General Discussion About Old …
Aug 10, 2008 · My Sears "free spirit" 10-speed all-steel road bike from the later 1970's (not bicentennial colors) is a Murray Ohio build; i believe the yellow head tube with a "502" designator may also be Murray. The frame design used an old Murray feature of a reduced diameter (tapered) rear top tube, where it joined the seat post cluster area.
Reuse old spokes? | Bicycle Restoration Tips | The Classic and …
Oct 30, 2024 · The flats have to be good, as do the threads. Watch out for worn or damaged nipple heads and flats from over-tightening in the past. If you don't have the tools for this, or you don't have spokes in the condition required, buy a new set. Old stock Torrington and Union spokes can still be found, unused in boxes on occasion.
