Apr 6, 2020 · Offerup attracts scammy sellers, I was scammed on there once, won't do it again. By their rules you have to file a complaint with them within 2 days of receiving the item and sellers have to mark an item as sold to someone before the buyer can leave feedback, so when a seller scams someone they just never mark it sold and you can't leave a review.

This is 2020, not 2000. If people can’t do business with me the updated, simple, convenient, and safer way (like texting through the app) then I won’t do business with them.

Jul 15, 2020 · Offer Up should send out a notice to users warning them not to give verification codes to anyone and to think twice about sending out their phone number. Seems pretty obvious that it was a scam in hindsight, the user account had no photo, was not verified, etc.
