Sep 19, 2024 · This was an expensive procedure and the rattling noise disappeared for about two weeks, but has since returned. It only occurs on cold starts. I haven't gone back to the mechanic yet, but it's frustrating that the noise is back. I've always had conventional OW-20 engine oil in the vehicle and we've since switched to synthetic OW-20 engine oil.

After the switch, the car runs much smoother and quieter, and oil consumption reduced to 1/4 quart / 5K miles...

Apr 27, 2018 · Mobil 1 0W-20, but any Dexos 1, Gen 2 oil will do. Dexos 1, Gen 2 oils are specifically made for small turbo'd engines.

Aug 29, 2020 · Except for the first change, dont follow the MM. The purpose of it isnt to help you at all. Secondly this isnt just DI engine issue (actually DI has little to do with it, Honda has been using DI engines long before the latest version CRVs) Turbo engines have ALWAYS dirtied their oil much faster than normal engines.
