Ruby bolt special hits for 20% of target's remaining HP with no variance. 6% chance to happen. Diamond bolt hits for normal hit but with 15% extra damage. 10% chance to happen. So it can hit for 0, it can hit for 1.15x max hit or anything in between.

I did however notice the strange manner in which the Ruby bolt’s special effect works on Zulrah. On the wiki it states the effect will deal 20% of the targets current health in damage, with a max of 100.

One can see that from Graph A and B that at approx half hp of the monster the bak bolts start losing their 12k damage hit. So should one stop using it at 50% hp?

May 2, 2015 · Alright, so I have a clarification question for ruby bolt(e) specs (or any bolt specs for that matter). I've seen the number thrown around on reddit before that the base chance for a ruby bolt(e) is 6%. The osrs wiki says the Kandarin Hard Achievement Diary increases the bolt spec chance by 10%.

Jul 29, 2022 · The enchantment happens just as often with regular ruby bolts and dragon bolts. So while dragon ruby/diamond (e) will consistently hit higher than ruby/diamond (e) because they have higher damage stats, their enchantment effect happens just as often. Dragon bolts are like 25x more GP so I use regular ruby/diamond (e) bolts to save money.
